The NK family has finally gotten some practicing in. We are getting ready for the upcoming January and March shows. See the tour dates page for more. I think the San Diego House of Blues show is sold out but the Casbah date has not gone on sale yet. Jump on it if you want to make it in.

It's gonna be fun stuff. Hope to see you out at one of the shows.

Sincerely.

Well, it looks like we may play some shows in late 2008 or early 2009!

How's that for out of the blue! It seemed like the timing was right and everyone felt like doing it so we'll see how things develop. Of course we'll post more as we know what's happening. Should be fun!

See you soon.

New stuff to report. More action with our post-No Knife existence.

Mitch has been doing new recordings under the name Moonlife. Brian has contributed to this project as well. Check it out at www.myspace.com/thisismoonlife2. Also he is playing with the Focus Group who is doing a tour of the UK this next month. Keep an eye out for that if you are in that corner of the world.

Brian is doing another new music project as well, Get Your Death On. Cool stuff. Check their site for a listing of upcoming shows. There are a couple good ones coming up.

Ryan is currently in pre-production for a new 7-song solo EP. He will be teaming up again with "Three, Four" engineer Shaun Cornell and will begin recording later this month at Shaun's Blue Roof Studios in North County SD. For more information, visit Ryan's site at www.fergusong.com.

Chris has joined Pinback as their live touring drummer. There is a tour booked for this April and May 2006 of the US and Canada. Chris's other band, the Jade Shader will be opening the Western US dates. Things are going well with the new Jade Shader disc "Curse of the Tuatara" and they have some additional regional touring planned for March and April. See the Jade Shader website for details or on the ever present MySpace.

Thanks for checking in!

Here's the latest. Ryan has been doing well for himself. He scored the San Diego Music Award for best pop album and performed 2 songs at the awards ceremony 91X in San Diego has added his song "Suddenly" to their regular playlist and a couple LA stations have followed suit with some airplay. Ryan's EP "Three, Four" is now available for download on iTunes. Check it out if haven't already. As always there's more info on Ryan's website: www.RyanFerguson.net.

Brian Desjean has been working on some new projects too. I have heard some of the early formations of these ideas and can't wait to see the live performances. It's some really interesting stuff and is way different from the No Knife rock of old. Daring new directions...

As for Chris, I have been working on the Jade Shader stuff and our first 7 song CD, Curse of the Tuatara is being released on October 18th in America and soon after in Japan. We are busy playing shows and are planning a tour of the Northwest US this Winter. Also look for LA and San Diego dates this October. Check www.theJadeShader.com or our mySpace page for info, music and contacts. A quick thanks to 91X and FM 94.9 for the support and early airplay on our CD!
In addition to the Jade Shader stuff I recently performed keyboard/guitar/backing vocals with Pinback on some September California dates.

I think that's it for now. I'll do my best to post anything new that is worth noting. As always, thanks for checking in!

Hello. I felt that perhaps it was time to make another small posting regarding the whereabouts of NK. We still have no plans to play together at this point although each of us have been busy working on new projects. Ryan has been recording a new CD, which will be released in the next month or so. I got to hear what is sounded like since I played drums on a couple of the tracks. Good stuff. As before, check Ryan's site for more info: www.fergusong.com

I have finally put a new band together, along with Boilermaker's Terrin Durfey and fellow San Diegans Matt Lynott and Patricia Kavanaugh. The group is called The Jade Shader and we have put together a website (www.thejadeshader.com) with MP3 downloads and show information. Come out to a show and say hello if we are playing in your area. Our first CD is coming out this Fall on Catune Records, which is run by our friends from NineDaysWonder in Tokyo, Japan.

Thanks for checking in, sorry there's not more to report.

Greetings. It's been a long time since the last posting but on the urging of several friends, I saw it fit to write in. We haven't played any shows in a long time. In fact, I believe our last show was back in March of 2003 with Cursive. Since then we all have been following our own personal interests outside the band. As time goes on it is less likely that we will play again. I can only speak for myself of course and since no one has shown interest in posting anything I can only offer my take on things. Hopefully this will change in the near future.

New projects will be appearing soon. Ryan has been working on his own songs and recordings, recently having a song released on the "My Favorite Songwriters" compilation on Five One Records. In addition, Ryan has been performing here and there around San Diego doing solo acoustic performances. Check his site for any news, www.fergusong.com
Mitch is rumored to have been working on a new project with some other San Diego folks. I have not heard it but I am sure it will be more than worthy of some investigation. Brian has been playing some experimental music and doing some scoring for films as of late. I have been doing a new band with some old friends and will hopefully play out soon. We'll post stuff about our new projects soon as things are finally getting to the final stages...

Some other things to mention. We have a new merch site that is through our friend Pete and Merch Lackey. We have some old T-Shirt designs that have been long out of stock as well as a brand new hooded sweatshirt. Also we finally received the "Riot for Romance" vinyl and that is available as well.

Who knows exactly what the future holds. Once we know, we'll let you know. Thanks for checking in.

Hello!!! Here's a couple small things to post. We recently won the award for "Best Alternative Album" at this year's San Diego Music Awards. This makes our 4th win over the years along with a bunch of various nominations. I guess this year our music is"alternative". It's good to know, I suppose. I can't really think of anything else to post but thanks to everyone for all the letters and for checking the site. Regards, --NK

Thanks for everyone who came out to the recent shows with Cursive and Minus the Bear. Our tour with them was really amazing. It's really nice to meet up with people and get along so well from day one of the tour. They are an inspiring bunch to travel with and see every night.

As for the Fall tour... we have postponed it. Since we got on the ball a little late to book it, things were filled and we couldn't get the venues we wanted. We'll try again later and hopefully still get Tokyo's Nine Days Wonder to come along.

We haven't scheduled any shows and there are none in sight. If anything happens we will post it here obviously. Keep checking in.

Our video for The Red Bedroom is pretty much done. There may be a couple final edits and tweaks but we'll post a link as soon as it's officially done. The folks did a nice job on it.

Muchas Gracias for the support and hanging with us during our extended break. We seem to be making a habit of this.

Thanks to everyone who came out the shows this past couple weeks. We had a great time in San Jose and at the Noise Pop festival in San Francisco. Pretty soon we are heading out to join Cursive on the East coast of the US. We haven't made it out there in soooooo long. It's exciting to finally get back to some of these far away places. We look forward to seeing old friends again. Check our tour dates to see when we might be in your area.

Looking ahead, we are planning to tour the Western US in late Summer/ early Fall with NineDaysWonder. Keep an eye out for details on this!

Thanks for checking in. cP

Hello! We are just quickly checking in. The recent tour of Japan was really amazing. In fact, it was even better than our previous visit. Thanks so much to our hosts: Katoman, Akira, Kensuke, Teru, Hiro, Kiyo and Ogawa. We could not have done it without your help!!! We are planning on bringing NineDaysWonder over to the states to finally give you all an ear full of what this amazing band is about. We'll post more info on our recent travels soon.

This weekend we are playing a few shows to mention. This Friday at the Belly Up in San Diego and the "Hard to Find Show Place" in Santa Barbara this Saturday the 1st of Feb. See the Tour Dates section for more info.

Thanks for checking, we'll post some great pictures soon and maybe some live tracks from Japan as well!

Our recent tour out to Phoenix Arizona and Los Angeles was a great time. Thanks to all who came out to the shows. It was our first chance to see Eastern Youth play live. They are very intense and put on a great show. Everyone seemed to really like them and got into the show. Thanks also to TickerTapeParade, Snake Versus Wizard, Congress of the Cow and Limbeck. All the bands rocked!

Our plan right now is to stay low until we leave for Japan. On our return there is a San Diego show at the Belly Up. It's a great venue to see a band and the sound is really impressive so come out if you can. An ALL AGES show is in the works for San Diego so please keep an eye out for that.

We are planning on a trip to the East Coast in March with the amazing band Cursive. I'll post the dates as soon as things are totally confirmed. We are very excited that they are taking us out with them. If you have not heard them, get a listen. Cursive is one of the more creative bands around today.
